Structure and Elegance

In the heart of the Barolo DOCG zone, Le Strette produces the Bergeisa cru in the municipality of Barolo. This Additional Geographical Mention offers the ideal conditions to craft a Barolo that is both structured and elegant. The vineyard, characterized by a steep slope, enjoys excellent south-east exposure.

In the Vineyard

Municipality of Barolo – MeGA Bergeisa

  • Altitude: 280 m a.s.l.
  • Soil: calcareous with a loose, sandy texture
  • Variety: Nebbiolo
  • Vine density: 4,300 plants/ha
  • Training system: Guyot on vertical trellising
  • Planting year: 1982

In the Cellar

  • Gentle crushing and destemming
  • Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel for 25–30 days
  • Aging: ~12 months in small oak barrels (second and third passage), followed by 18–24 months in larger traditional casks

In the Glass

  • Color: garnet red with ruby highlights
  • Aroma: small dark fruits (blackberry, raspberry), floral notes (rose) and, at times, hints of licorice and cinnamon
  • Palate: structured, balanced and elegant. Silky tannins.
  • Begins to fully express its potential after 4–5 years of aging.
