Dolcetto d’Alba was the very first wine released by Le Strette, marking the winery’s debut on the Langhe wine scene with the 1997 vintage.

In the Vineyard

  • Altitude: 350–420 m a.s.l.
  • Soil: calcareous matrix with textures varying between sand and clay
  • Variety: Dolcetto
  • Vine density: 4,200–4,500 plants/ha
  • Training system: Guyot on vertical trellising
  • Planting years: 1950–1992

In the Cellar

  • Gentle crushing and destemming
  • Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel for 5–7 days
  • Aging in stainless steel for 8–10 months

In the Glass

  • Color: deep ruby red with enticing violet highlights
  • Aroma: fresh and fruity, with notes of red fruits (cherry) and subtle spicy tones adding complexity
  • Palate: harmonious, elegant and fresh, with a respectable body and a touch of gentle tannin
